National acquisition project with planned network launches from California to Virginia. Responsible for CDMA spectrum carve planning and implementation (Motorola and Nortel), E911 testing, UMTS pre launch and post launch optimization, data/parameters and network configuration accuracy. Coordinating and scheduling cross functional teams, deployment and coordination of drive test team resources and overall scheduling to meet customer needs. Presenting delivery reports to customer management and coordination of internal cross functional “launch night” teams. Met all schedules despite being staff at most times below 50% of projected staffing. Developed and created plan to save customer from marketing mistake of shipping 130,000 UMTS mobiles to subscribers with activation instructions before the network ready date. Sold approximately $500,000 in add on sales for this project. Presented 29 cluster GNG reports and ppt analysis to customer in a single GNG meeting lasting 11 hours.

UMTS Pre launch deployment and optimization lead

 

Led 12 engineer pre launch optimization team for Carolinas market spanning 7 cities and surrounding areas. Delivered each phase ahead of schedule by approximately a week, meeting KPI requirements for Greenfield UMTS launches. A few months later at the end of January, the Carolinas market performance was graded as the “Best in Class” 3G market nation-wide for T-Mobile.

Led 18 engineer pre launch optimization team for Los Angeles market. spanning zones 3 and 4 and surrounding areas. Delivered each phase on schedule, meeting KPI requirements for Greenfield UMTS launches. Almost all L.A. cluster post launch close outs occurred before allotted 30 days and very little NPI activity was required for L.A. Zones 3 and 4 for which I was the lead.

Senior RF Optimization Engineer

Provided RF engineering services to China Unicom for optimization of 1xRTT networks in Qingdao, China. Performed ISSHO optimization of CDMA 1xRTT networks between Qingdao and Yantai markets. Performed RF Cluster coverage optimization in urban and rural areas of the Shandong Province. Goals were to fill in coverage holes, off load capacity from busiest sites to lesser utilized sites and to reduce pilot pollution and/or soft handoff to reduce demand on capacity. Performed troubleshooting to resolve customer trouble tickets and resolved many RF related issues including co-PN interference.

 

Managed drive test resources and determined appropriate drive routes. Collected and analyzed drive test data. Monitored KPI via MTX OM’s, data from performance NEM servers and BTS performance logs. Recommended antenna changes and parameter changes to China Unicom to facilitate optimization
